NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Democrat Aftyn Behn’s campaign in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District has released its first ad of the general election, a 30-second television and digital spot titled “Rough Ride.”

Filmed inside a Nashville bar, the ad uses a mechanical bull to symbolize how Behn says Washington favors the wealthy and well-connected. A man in a business suit enjoys an easy ride, while younger, casually dressed Tennesseans are quickly thrown off. In the final scene, Behn flips the switch on the bull’s controls, sending the man in the suit flying.

“The rich and powerful get special treatment from politicians in Washington — tax breaks and even burying the Epstein files — while the rest of us deal with rising healthcare costs and tariffs that make life more expensive,” Behn says in the ad. “I’ll focus on stopping the healthcare cost spike, reversing the cuts to rural healthcare, and rolling back tariffs that are making life unaffordable. And unlike Matt Van Epps, I promise to sign on to release the Epstein files as soon as I’m sworn in.”

The Behn campaign said the ad will air districtwide on television and digital platforms. It’s the campaign’s first major creative release of the general election and builds on Behn’s recurring “top versus bottom” message — portraying herself as an outsider challenging Washington privilege.

That populist theme continues to define Behn’s campaign style, emphasizing class contrast and economic frustration while leaving her progressive activist roots largely unacknowledged.

With its humor, succinct script, and strong visuals, “Rough Ride” stands out as one of the more polished ads in the TN-7 race, signaling that Behn’s campaign intends to stay on offense heading into the final stretch.
